Jay Kelly is a collage artist who loves to make collages bast around females and nature. Jay Kelly began his career in graphic design, yet quickly emerged as a notable fine artist with his unique style. A lot of his work will have some of his own writing in it, I think he does this to add his own touch to things.
He does his beautiful collages out of books, photos, magazines to creating life-like portraits. He adds paint, inks and pencils to make the shading on hes work. Jay Kelly does hes collage in almost a movie style. the reason I think this is because the females he collages look like famous actress Audrey Hepburn. They also look like a old movie because of the soft colours and posses the females are is.
The reason i have chose to do Jay Kelly as one of artists is because i enjoy doing collages myself, Also because of the way he adds colour to the page. It makes hes work look more like a photo then a collage or painting. One of my most Favorited thing about him and the way he does his work is the messy but soft approach he has to he work.
If I was to do a collage in Jay Kellys style i would use a more harsh colour to bring out the colour of the flowers more. I would also make the females bigger to appeal to a bigger range of people as not everyone would like a slim girl on there wall.
